About this Community of Practice

Genomic services have two distinct rare disease pathways related to the pancreas:

  1. R175 focused on identifying hereditary pancreatitis
  2. R367 related to the hereditary predisposition syndromes that account for 10% of pancreatic cancers

Identification of hereditary pancreatitis and rare cancer predisposition syndromes is crucial for referral to expert centres, best practice, prognostication, prophylactic interventions and targeted therapies.

Developing this community of practice is needed to:

  • raise awareness
  • improve the appropriateness and quality of genomic test referals
  • promote dialogue with laboratory scientists to enhance pathways
  • disseminate best practice.

Ultimately our aim is to support equitable access to all eligible patients throughout the East Midlands and East of England.

Meeting schedule

Information on the recurrent day of the month and time of this CoP will be added shortly.

  • Details of the first meeting will be added here shortly.
