About this Community of Practice

To meet the commitment of the NHS Long Term Plan and offer whole genome sequencing to all children, teenagers and young adults newly diagnosed with cancer, we need to embed discussions about testing, potential risks and benefits, outcomes and treatment options into routine practice.

This CoP will enable provision of education to the multi-professional workforce to increase understanding and support development of the necessary pathways to ensure testing, feedback of results and incorporation into the treatment plan.

Audits of the proportion of patients tested, pathways and impact on outcome will facilitate service improvements to ensure all patients are tested appropriately.
