Funding available to set up a genomics Community of Practice

We are seeking expressions of interest from clinicians for new genomics Communities of Practice (COPs), with funding and support available.

To deliver equitable access to the NHS Genomic Medicine Service to all eligible patients, we must develop the capability of the mainstream multiprofessional workforce in many specialities and clinical pathways across our region.

This challenge necessitates a scalable, systematic solution to education and training provision. NHS East Genomics has piloted and assessed the utility of pan-regional Communities of Practice (CoP) over the past three years and has found this model to be an effective intervention to reach and upskill mainstream clinicians across the East Genomics geography.

We are now aiming to extend this approach to additional clinical areas and are seeking expressions of interest from those interested in providing clinical leadership in their area of practice/interest.

Support and guidance will be provided by East Genomics. If more applications are received than can be supported, funding will be prioritised to align with regional priority areas for NHS East Genomics in collaboration with regional partners (Deaneries, Cancer Alliances, etc).
